Where to Eat and Drink this Historic Election Day

November 7, 2016

Let’s face it, the only way to get through this election is to drink. With the stakes higher than ever, you’ll need good friends and plenty of beverages to make sure you get through this historic day with a morsel of sanity left. Not to worry, many bars and restaurants around the country have anticipated this need for self-medicating, and have you covered with creative discounts across the board.

Katsuya, Los Angeles
All Los Angeles Katsuya locations will offer 20.16% off your entire bill when you show your “I Voted” sticker at the end of your meal. Let America know you’ve done your part, and get a discount on sake cocktails and mouthwatering sashimi.

The Abbey, Los Angeles
LA’s most vibrant gay-but-totally-straight-friendly-bar will be hosted by HRC Los Angeles and Hollywood for Hillary. Hillary herself was a guest at the bar way back in 2007. Needless to say, if you’re voting for Trump, I’d head elsewhere unless you really want to take advantage of $5 appetizers and $5 mojitos.

Housing Works, New York
Here you’ll find cheap drinks all night, with proceeds going towards homeless services and to those with HIV/AIDS. This is the spot to be in NYC if you’re a book nerd, love politics, booze, and want to support a good cause.

The Oval Room, D.C.
In D.C. at The Oval Room, your favorite candidates are represented in liquid form. Have a taste of the Madam President (with Cynar, lemon juice, Giffard Abricot, Angostura Rum, sparkling wine and an orange twist) or a Build That Wall (Muscat Grape purée, spiced honey syrup, Champagne vinegar, soda and three grapes).

The Mighty, Miami
All eyes will be on Florida tomorrow, so with the world watching, check out this Coral Way hot spot, who is hosting a bipartisan election night party. Whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or Independent, no on can argue with their $2 presidential tacos, and election-themed cocktails. When it’s all said and done, stop in for a nightcap at The Bazaar by José Andrés—the Michelin-starred chef has been a much needed, powerful voice in this election season. the mighty2

Cleo, Los Angeles
Celebrating all voters on November 8, Cleo is offering the same 20.16% off when you show your “I Voted” sticker. That means incredible shared mezze plates, killer cocktails, and seafood, meat and vegetarian entrees all at a patriotic discount.
