National Burger Day, the perfect excuse to nosh on a guilt-free hamburger, is happening this Sunday, May 28th! Seasoned ground beef, grilled and placed between two slices of bread or a bun. Topped with tomato, lettuce, pickles, onions or cheese — any one of these combinations is sure to please. To help you decide where to feast this weekend, we’ve rounded up 5 can’t-miss burgers in Los Angeles.

  1. K Burger from K Ramen. Burger. Beer.

Half pound beef placed with local artisan bun, caramelized onion, tomato and American cheese. If this all sounds basic to you, you’re sorely mistaken. Don’t forget about the most crucial ingredient of all — Chef’s spicy creamy sauce. Insider tip: add avocado AND bacon. This deliciousness comes with your choice of tots drizzled with duck fat or fries.
  2. Impossible Burger from Umami Burger

This month, Umami Burger has joined forces with Impossible Burger, the 100% plant-based, meatless burger. The “Impossible burger” is made entirely from plants and packs the sizzle and mouth feels of real meat. Two patties and two slices of American cheese on a Portuguese bun with lettuce, tomato, pickles, caramelized onions and the proprietary “umami dust” and “master sauce.”

  3. The Office Burger from Father’s Office

Father’s office is known for having one of the best burgers in Santa Monica. It’s topped with caramelized onions, two kinds of cheese, arugula, bacon and the patty that has been aged to perfection. Be advised, they do not provide ketchup or other condiments. Their burgers are meant to be eaten the way they come prepared. Chef’s confidence level: No ketchup.

  4.  The Big Mec at Petit Trois

It is a chef-built burger that melds elements of fine dining with the mash up of two cultures, classic American and French. The burger presents an extraordinary amalgamation of all-beef patties, foie gras sauce, pickles, cheese, aioli on a brioche bun. The real star, Foie gras-infused red wine Bordelaise sauce, blends with beef juices and craft american cheese, creating the perfect gooeyness.

  5. Double Cheeseburger from Capitol Burgers

One of the best hole-in-the-wall burger stands you’ll find in Los Angeles. The dynamic duo of a South Korean owner and his son brings out the ultimate experience through exceptional quality of food and service. Ordering a double cheeseburger would be the go-to move, accompanied with their one-of-a-kind chili cheese fries. Definitely worth ditching a nice sit-down restaurant to enjoy a three dollar cheeseburger that might change your life.
