If record breaking heat didn’t stop Leanne Murakami from running the 30th Annual LA Marathon on Sunday, nothing will. In our ongoing “Role Call” series, where we introduce the amazing members of the sbe Family, we sat down to learn all about Leanne and how she preps and rewards herself after the big race!

Your role at sbe:

Assistant General Manager at Katsuya Brentwood

What you love most about your job:

Getting to know our guests, finding out their favorite things and surprising them with it at a later day, and getting to throw a party every night!

When you’re not working we can find you:

Playing at the beach with my daughter, Leina, or training with the FOX Triathlon team.

How you mentally prepare for Marathon day:

I go over the course in my head so I know where the hills are. If it is a themed race you can often find me running in costume; I double check that it’s easy to run in the days before.

First thought when you cross that Finish Line:

Another one in the books, next time I’ll train more, and I need a “Spa Water” aka a Katsuya Fresh!
