Our resident hairstyle expert, Robert Vetica, is back at it creating the hottest look on the hottest red carpet of the season! He styled Daisy Ridley, the breakout star in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens premiere event in Tokyo, Japan this week. He explains this iconic look as “chic, modern, fresh, and ageless. The inspiration was very much rooted in a fresh spin of a 1920’s Chanel flapper,” to coordinate with her dress. Here he gives us the run down for creating this timeless look that we think is perfect for your next holiday party!

1) Prep and dry

Begin with wet hair, run a styling mousse to amp up the body! Blow your hair dry with a medium-sized, boar bristle round brush that grips for a true wet-to-dry sculpt.

2) Curl

Take a 3/4 curling iron on mild-medium heat and curl the ends.

3) Set

With soft curls, give yourself a deep side part and comb into an iconic ’20s, S-wave. Use silver clips to set this shape, then spritz the hair with hair spray. After 20 minutes, remove pins starting with the less dominant side.

4) Pin and Finalize

Roll and mold the hair, using bobby pins to twist, then pin, roll then pin, securing the front and right side into the perfect shape, add extra bobby pins where needed. Finally, add one last layer of hair spray to set in place for the evening!
