It’s that time again to head North to Golden Gate Park for three days of summer music festival glory at Outside Lands Festival. Whether it’s your first or fifth time, here is your veteran’s guide to get you through and a mixtape to jam to along your way!

1. Print your schedule.

Cell service is known to be spotty at best, so don’t rely on the app or your phone for getting around. You (and your cell phone battery) will thank us later.

2. Go cashless.

This is the first year they’re offering RFID-enabled wristbands at Wine Lands. Add your credit card when you register your wristband to buy as much as you want with the scan of your band. WARNING: this can be dangerous.

3. Layer up.

We’ve all seen the photos of people there in coats and fur hats. Yes, it’s summer still, but it’s also San Fransisco. Be prepared for all temps at all times.

4. Go small.

Don’t always rely on the headliners to be the best shows of the weekend. Medium and lower billed acts are sure to impress. We recommend Odesza, Hot Chip, Tame Impala, Classixx, and Toro y Moi to be the stars of the weekend!

 5. Explore

There is tons to see and do other than music at this fest. Check out what the festival grounds have to offer and be sure to check out the wide food and drink offerings at Choco Lands, Beer Lands, and Wine Lands.
