Late Night Bites: NYC’s Best After Hours Dining

January 27, 2015

In the city that never sleeps, it’s not hard to find late night food options. The trick is finding late night bites that taste good. Never fear, we sent our expert foodies to pound the pavement and bring you the best dining options for night owls, after party snackers and everything in between.

Blue Ribbon
Since 1992, this neighborhood hot spot has stuck to their guns and stayed open after midnight even if no diners come (but given their popularity, that’s almost never). Here, you can order a hangar steak, rack of lamb, or chilled lobster and champagne from 4:00 pm until 4:00 am, seven nights a week.

La Esquina
This little number is the gem of late night dining in NYC. The ultra hip cafe is open until 1:00 am on the weekends while the subterranean brasserie and taqueria stay open well until the early morning hours. Rare tequilas and authentic Mexican food are their specialty, but try the steamed mussels for something fresh and different.

The Odeon Restaurant
If you’re in by 1:00 am, The Odeon on Broadway serves French style dishes until the wee hours. A popular late night spot since the 80’s, you can count on a delicious, hearty meal and great service.

With a cult following and 24 hours of service, this is your go-to when hunger gets the better of you after 1:00 am. This Chelsea mainstay offers comfort food with a contemporary twist in an eclectic atmosphere.

Empire Biscuit
If piping hot biscuits stuffed with jam and foie gras are your thing at 4:00 am, look no further than this East Village newbie, open 24 hours. And if that’s a little too decadent for your already indulgent evening, opt for something sweet, like the Kiki biscuit, rich with chocolate, cayenne butter and coffee whipped cream, yum.
