Miami’s Best Day Drinking Spots: The Winter Edition

In most of the world, the days have started getting shorter and darker: Winter is setting in. But most of the world is not Miami, which boasts plenty of year-round sunshine and warm temperatures (and yes, the occasional fierce thunderstorm). Given this killer climate, while everyone else is hibernating, we’ll be sipping mojitos at any number of amazing, outdoor drinking spots that line South Beach and dot downtown. Here are our picks:

Hyde Beach
Sprayed champagne has rarely had a better backdrop than Hyde Beach at SLS South Beach. Relax by the pool during the day time and then stay for sunset when the party picks up, like for this Saturday’s new Nighttime event with Ricky Fatts.

Broken Shaker
Tucked away behind an unassuming hostel, the magical world of mixology awaits at this local haunt. Go for something seasonal like the “Third Eye”: gin stirred with beet and cardamom infused sherry, and Concord shrub—quite the winning winter combo.

Raleigh Hotel
True story: yours truly once spent $500 on mojitos in one sitting at the iconic Raleigh Hotel pool. I’m not proud, but I swear, I also wasn’t alone. This is the ultimate people watching spot in Miami, and clearly the drinks are just as great!

The Beach
Okay, don’t say we tipped you off to this, but what better spot to relax with a little bubbly or something stashed in a flask, than the beach? This is sunny Miami after all, where everyone has to feel the ocean breeze while getting your buzz on at least once.

Drink open-air style while sample the piping hot mezzes, Lamb Tagine, and brussels sprouts. And of course, what would a meal in the sun be without a Mediterranean Margarita or five to wash it all down?
