This just in: The Redbury Hollywood was named No. 1 Hotel in the Greater Los Angeles in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2016! To celebrate, we caught up with The Redbury Hollywood’s general manager Ian Robert McClendon who was on hand to accept the T + L award. Here, the industry veteran tells us what makes this 57-room hotel so unique.
Why does The Redbury stand out from other Los Angeles hotels?
We offer a unique product and that spans from employees to room product. We honestly feel we are the best at what we do, and we portray that to our guests. We also have the ability to personalize their experiences when they stay with us.
What impact has Matthew Rolston had on the guest experience at The Redbury Hollywood?
He has a large impact on the guest’s journey. From the uniforms to the design of the property, we look to him for our muse. This is truly a unique brand; I feel very lucky to be a part of something so amazing.
What is your favorite thing to order on Chef Daniel Elmaleh’s Mediterranean-inspired menu at Cleo at The Redbury?
Chef Danny has too many to name just one. If you force me I would probably say moussaka, it is pretty decadent. Favorite cocktail is for sure an Old Fashioned made by Caleb.
What is LA’s best kept secret?
It is not that much of a secret anymore, but DTLA is amazing. Great food, fun bars, and seems to be a place that Disruptive Restaurant Group is looking to expand in – Cleo L.A. LIVE is opening this Fall. From the Arts District to LA Live you can find everything you need and tons of cool up and coming activities.
What’s next for The Redbury?
“The Red” as we call it, always has something up our sleeves. We are working with Disruptive and Chef Danny to create a new Backyard BBQ event on Sundays during the day. Look out for more info on that soon!
