Wired and inspired we are taking our love for motion pictures back to the kitchen.  The DOPE Movie buzzed throughout Sundance and is now due out in theaters this week.  So, naturally, rolling out at all L.A. Katsuya locations starting June 22nd is our #DOPEroll for our “roll of the week.” This dish is here to take you back, back in the day!

What makes this roll so dope?

Shrimp tempura, avocado, cucumber and spicy mayo topped with Spicy Albacore sashimi, garlic soy butter and garnished with a 90’s kick – wasabi dusted pop-rocks.  Oh, yes we did.

We dished with the stars of the film about how it was working with executive producer, Pharrell Williams, and this is what they had to say.

Tony Revolori (Jib): “I mean, he’s Pharrell! He’s awesome and I bow down to the man. I remember meeting him for the first time and he was like, ‘Oh my god I loved your film The Grand Budapest.’ And I was like STOP IT, I’M SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THIS TO YOU!”

Kiersey Clemons (Diggy): “When we got there, I don’t think Pharrell knew how we were going to be able to perform and what we were going to give personally to the songs (cause we all have our own flavor). Once he sat down with us and Rick and talked about how we saw our roles, he would leave and write the songs based on the info we gave him. It was DOPE.”

We’ll be celebrating the #DOPEroll for the month of June at all L.A. Katsuya locations so make sure to make a reservation. There’s also a chance to score some DOPE swag, so follow @katsuyabysbe on Instagram for all the details!

And make sure you check out the DOPE Movie official trailer out in theaters June 19th or see it early Thursday Night, June 18th.
