Today, there’s an emerging crew of beautiful people with both style and substance shaping the fashion industry. They’re models redefining our definitions of beauty and identity and using their visibility for the greater good. Below, meet five up-and-coming stunners to keep an eye on in the coming seasons.

Hari Nef
As the first transgender model to sign with IMG, Nef has sparked a much-welcomed conversation about identity on the runway. And despite already walking for the likes of Gucci, her talents aren’t limited to fashion—she’s currently starring in the award-winning TV show “Transparent.”

Alice Metza
Just days after a modeling agent approached Alice Metza at school, she was signed, and doing shows with Proenza Schouler and Prada. The 18-year-old may be a new face in the industry, but we have a feeling we’ll see much more of her in the future.

Lucky Blue Smith
Known as much for his work in fashion as for his Instagram popularity, this platinum blonde head-turner comes from a long line of models, including his mother, grandmother, and two sisters. Lucky, who is Mormon, may also be one of the few 17-year-old models around trying to decide whether to take a year off to go on a traditional religious mission abroad, or, keep slaying it in fashion magazines.

Pooja Mor
Much to her parent’s surprise, Indian-born model Pooja Mor left her work as an engineer to pursue more stylish dreams. The 24-year-old has already made her parents proud as one of the few prominent models to come out of her country and dominate the catwalk.

Shaun Ross
Bronx-born Shaun Ross (who just celebrated his birthday at Doheny Room) was discovered on YouTube at 16, becoming the first professional male albino model. He’s since modeled for everyone from Alexander Wang to Givenchy and appeared in music videos by the likes of Beyonce and Katy Perry.
