Thanks to “Movember,” November has become an important time worldwide for men’s health. The global movement encourages people to grow a moustache for the entire month to raise awareness about men’s mental and physical health issues. Never ones to skip out on a fashion trend and don facial hair for a good cause, the sbe Events team jumped on the bandwagon. For our monthly installment of Role Call—a behind the scenes look at the sbe team—we followed Leo, Sean and Rob on their journey from clean shaven to full blown ‘stache.

What do you do for sbe?

LEO: I’m the Logistics Manager. I plan and coordinate special events that are production heavy. I work closely with venue operations and clients to ensure a seamless event for all parties.

SEAN: I’m the Special Events Coordinator. I manage and coordinate every special event we do at The Abbey. Anything from a large birthday dinner, holiday party or one of the numerous charitable events we do, I’m your guy.

ROB: I’m the Integrated Marketing Manager for Special Events. In addition to developing kick ass content and offers for our websites, email newsletters and digital channels, I work closely with the Special Events team to develop national campaigns around award season, holidays and weddings.

What do you love most about your job?

LEO: I love that each event is a new project that comes with a different experience. Watching an event start from creative ideas into a full guest experience is my favorite part about special events.

SEAN: Working with people that love what they do and constantly being challenged to make an event better than it was the year before.

ROB: I love working with the Special Events team. From Art Basel events to Las Vegas grand openings and red carpet movie premieres, we produce over 3,000 events nationwide with amazing clients. No day is ever the same.

When you’re not at the office, we can find you?

LEO: Hiking, and anything outdoors. I’m a bit of a sun chaser, catching sunsets and sunrises. You can usually find me at the gym or at some local cool hip restaurant/lounge with friends.

SEAN: Eating a burger, having coffee, hanging by the beach/pool, catching a movie or dinner with friends. You’ll also find me getting my sweat on at Equinox or Barry’s Bootcamp from time to time.

ROB: I’m a total gym brat so I’m usually rocking out at Barry’s Bootcamp (yes, I’m racing you on the treadmill) or doing laps at the pool. But I believe in balance, so you might also find me on my couch with a healthy serving of Indian Food (cheese naan…yum). I’m a big fan of Sunday brunches followed by Fireball-fueled dance-offs at The Abbey with these two guys.

Favorite event you’ve worked on/attended?

LEO: The Godzilla premier was one of the most creative events I worked on, with over 900 guests. It was a great platform to expose what sbe events and Katsuya has to offer.

SEAN: So far my little sister’s wedding has been my favorite event I’ve ever attended. I’m from New Mexico so it’s always great to go home and see family. #RedorGreen

ROB: The SLS Las Vegas Grand Opening was epic. Imagine a party in Vegas with 3,500 people, all-you-can-eat and drink from sbe’s award-winning restaurants and rock star performances by Iggy Azalea and Lenny Kravitz. It doesn’t get better than that.
