With Mother’s Day right around the corner, what better way to celebrate than with a spotlight on one of sbe’s newest moms? Meet events maven and newly-minted super-mom Deirde McCready, Vice President of Special Events at sbe. Between balancing high-profile events across the country and spending quality time with her son, the oh-so-adorable “Baby Cash”, there’s no denying that she’s mastered the modern day working mom—and in style, to boot. Get to know her more in our latest installation of our ongoing Role Call series.

Your role at sbe:

Vice President of Special Events

What you love most about your job:

The Team and its culture. I started the sbe Events Department 10 years ago and growing the Team and platform nationally is something I am very proud of. I have worked on every brand and opened every venue we have to ensure they are the go-to for Special Events in each of our markets. I also love and appreciate the creativity that each and every one of our Team members has and the unforgettable memories we’ve created along the way, both with clients and as an sbe family. The exciting brand activations and fully integrated experiences we get to provide to our clients daily while collaborating across divisions is inspiring!

Your role requires you to be on the go constantly. How has your routine changed since having Cash?

That’s a good question! Work has always been a priority for me, so once we had Baby Cash, it was more about finding that adjustment. I spend every early morning with him (when I’m not working in another city) and always come home to feed him and put him to sleep. I can always go back to work on my laptop, iPhone or Blackberry (yes, I still have a blackberry!) but capturing those real-time special moments are once in a lifetime and I don’t want to miss them.

Best part of being a Mom:

Everything! Baby Cash is the best! He has added so much love and laughter to our lives.

Most memorable event you planned:

SLS South Beach Grand Opening Party – the video mapping, the performances, the seamlessly executed culinary and mixology, the creative characters, and most importantly the guests. Miami knows how to have fun! That was a great party and a perfect opening for that property!
